GRIT

GRIT

'Grit' describes what creates outstanding achievements, based on science, interviews with high achievers from various fields, and the personal history of success of the author, Angela Duckworth, uncovering that achievement isn’t reserved for the talented only, but for those with passion and perseverance. What I understood from this book is -"To be gritty is to keep putting one foot in front of the other. To be gritty is to hold fast to an interesting and purposeful goal. To be gritty is to invest, day after week after year, in challenging practice. To be gritty is to fall seven times and rise eight." This beautiful definition of grit cannot be more simply explained. It speaks of purpose, passion, goals, and perseverance. It also speaks of not giving in to failure but rising each time. To reach your destination you have to continue to move forward. Be willing to fail, learn how to face failure, overcome it, keep trying, and do not give up. This is a great business book and is a perfect read for when you are thinking about setting up your own business. It reminds you that talent is only a small part of success and that what makes a difference is grit.
